The subject stated that a named policy had "created half a million manufacturing jobs in a single year." The figure was precise and central to a campaign argument. Under the Protocol, the subject was asked to substantiate it.

The claim is falsifiable against the Bureau of Labor Statistics establishment survey, which reports manufacturing employment monthly. It entered Lane B.

What the record shows

The BLS series does not support the figure. Manufacturing employment over the twelve months in question rose by a fraction of the number stated — and the series does not attribute changes to any single policy. No automatically qualifying source produced the 500,000 figure at the level claimed.

On request, the subject's campaign pointed to a projection commissioned by an advocacy group. The document is a forward-looking estimate of jobs that a policy might support over a decade, not a count of jobs added in a year. It does not meet the Evidence Standard for the claim as stated, and no qualifying source was offered in its place before the cycle closed.
